About the Author
Leo Hand has coached championship teams at both the high school and college levels during his more than 40 years of coaching. As a head high school coach in California, he coached teams that were ranked in USA Today s Super 25 and won 81% of their games, a state championship, and numerous league championships. During his tenure as the offensive coordinator at Los Angeles Harbor College, the Seahawks posted an 8-3 record, were ranked #27 in the United States, and won a K-Swiss Bowl at a school that hadn t been to a bowl game in 20 years. For the past 10 years, Hand has been employed by the El Paso (TX) Independent School District, where he teaches English and has served as the defensive coordinator at a number of schools. A former Golden Glove boxing champion and linebacker at Emporia State University, Hand holds a master s degree from the College of Saint Thomas.

Very dissappointing, some paragraphs are identical to Ted Amorosi's book

I'm glad there is another book out here about the Double Eagle Defense. Hand does a good job describing each position, and there is a great section on technique in Cover 1, as well as a good Empty section. What I didn't like is that most of the book reviews over his blitzes and stunts. I would have liked to have seen him write more about zone defense, zone blitz, and what stunt/blitz he calls in certain situations or why he calls a defensive call when he does.

I am not sure if Leo Hand has contacted Ted Amorosi or not asking him if he could use nearly the same excerpts or not from his book - I honestly hope he has. I just read Ted Amorosi's book, and many parts of this book look nearly identical to Ted Amorosi's book "Coaching Football's Double Eagle Flex Defense"
This looks like plagiarism to me. See for yourself, this is just ONE of many paragraphs:
Amorosi:
"A number of schools of though exist on how to defense this offensive tactic, which seems to increase each year in popularity. Some coaches believe that the best defense is to rush three and drop eight; others believe in sending the house. Probably the best tactic will depend upon the down-and-distance situation, the mobility of the quarterback, and how the defensive back's speed and skill match up with that of the wide receivers."
Hand:
"A number of schools of thought exist on how to defense ***same typo?*** an empty set. Some coaches believe that the best defense is to rush three and drop eight; others believe in sending the house. Hand did not plagiarize Amarosi's book. Sometimes good coaches need assistance from experienced writers when attempting to put their ideas into a manuscript format. Because both Hand and Amarosi ran the similar defenses, Hand a more experienced author, was asked to assist Amarosi with his book.
