Cheyenne And Dude

Author Susan Stoker has done it again! Every book in the Seal of Protection series has been great and #5 is no exception.

Faulkner "Dude" Cooper is a Bomb Ordnance Specialist with the Seals team. Dude is cool and calm under pressure, always in control. Seeing his teammates fall in love with women he describes as strong makes him long for a woman of his own. He didn't think he would find her in a dangerous situation with bombs strapped to her body!

Cheyenne Cotton is a 911 operator who does not see herself as a hero. She is quiet and keeps to herself. She has been put down by a neglectful mother and a jealous older sister. She can't see how much she impacts the lives of those who call in to report an emergency.

When Dude and Cheyenne meet, it is hot, hot, hot! Can Dude make her see that what she does matters and makes a difference? Can Cheyenne let Dude have the control be needs? You will truly love reading this book to find out.

But that's not all Dude and Cheyenne need to look out for. There is danger waiting for them. Someone has been watching and waiting for the right time to strike back at them. Will they survive? Will anyone get hurt? You have to read the book to find out what else is in store for them!

I HIGHLY recommend reading all the books in the Seal of Protection series. It will give you background on the Seal team members and each succeeding book is better than the last!!!!

Faulkner or Dude is the bomb specialist in the team and darn good at it. He had an accident a while back in one of the missions and one of his hand was mangled sometimes it was a turned off for some of the ladies, and it bother him but he never let it showed.

Cheyenne was a hard working woman, she always kept to herself and always tried to work hard to have her mother's approval yet she could never accomplished that. When she is faced with a life and death situation she knew she had no one to count with and she was willing to sacrificed her life.

When Dude and Cheyenne crossed path neither of them knew their lives were changing forever. They needed each other but can they both admit it?

Can Cheyenne and Dude love each other the way they both had wanting for so long?

Received an advance copy of it & absolutely LOVED this book! If you’re looking for a great book with steamy romance (not too much steamy romance but just the right amount) and that makes you laugh at the same time then this is the book! Susan did an excellent job writing this. This book can be a standalone book even though it's part of series but I promise you will be hooked after reading it & will want to go back to read the other books in the series!!

I love this story and have read it multiple times

I love this story and have read it multiple times. Certainly one of the best survival stories out there. I originally saw and purchased the movie which could only have been better if it was in Imax as the photography is absolutely breath taking. The book certainly has some more detail however I think having seen the movie helps a bit with visualizing the extreme conditions these guys were in. There is a scene in the movie that starts as an incredible panoramic view of the mountain range and the camera slowly pans in to the point where you see these two specs climbing the shear face of the mountain. For me that scene really puts the whole story into perspective. There were no margins for error here and then how these two dealt with it and their emotions when the worst occurs. I highly recommend this one

Reaching Beyond One's Limit

I climbed, I clawed, I hung on for dear life through the entire book. This true story of two men climbing in the mountains of Peru had me figuratively climbing with them. This well written book describes what goes on in a climbers mine and the physical toll one experiences while knowing death is possible at any moment. The range of a climber's emotions are extreme. One can be joyful over the smallest detail like a sip of warm tea in the morning or an ice pick that never leaves your hand. The terror of what can happen in the blink of an eye (it happens) and the knowledge of an experienced climber of what to expect now begs the question; is it worth it to go on? An inner voice constantly prodded Joe Simpson forward despite the hopelessness that lay before him. My fingers got cold just reading it.
We all have a built in desire for survival; some more some less. I believe my desire to live, to survive, to just keep going, grew from experiencing this book.

A modern classic of survival, told with unusual grace and style

A classic survival story, on a par with Piers Paul Read's "Alive", Alfred Lansing's "Endurance", or any other great one cares to mention.

When Joe Simpson and fellow climber Simon Yates set off to conquer a remote Peruvian peak, they have no idea that they'll not only achieve a first ascent of the mountain's most difficult face, but also pull off one of the most unbelievable rescue/survival epics ever. Without sentimentality but with a near-poetic insight, Simpson takes the reader through his ordeal and Yates's counter-narrative; this book will leave you gasping at its intensity, and also applauding the singular will that takes one man through an ordeal he shouldn't have survived--but did. Simpson has gone on to write other books about climbing, and all of them are as read-worthy as "Touching the Void." But I'd start with "Void"; it's a great introduction to Simpson and his unique, compelling prose.

An Epic Account of an American Tragedy

The Innocence of Muslims - YouTube video

This book is a real turn off. On page 35 they claim the whole episode was the result of an anti-Muslim YouTube video. That dog may have hunted for a week or two after the attack (promoted by the Obama administration) but has been totally refuted. Now a book with a copyright of 2013 that still regurgitates that crap, cannot be seriously considered as credible.

An excellent account!

This fact-filled account of a very difficult episode in our diplomatic efforts in a very dangerous foreign field at a critical time in world events is just awesome. I appreciated all the background and supporting information that was presented. At once I am outraged, horrified and ashamed to learn the details surrounding the loss of life of courageous Americans doing what they were trained for and passionate about. The telling of their story brings them due honor and should convict and humble our country's leadership

Surprisingly still relevent

This was perhaps the most exhaustive work in its day on the subject and is eye opening in its fairly objective treatment of air and gas guns of all types. Many of Smith's observations continue to be relevant as most of the issues involved in airgun design really are questions of physics. While Smith's writing is a product of its time (particularly evident in the poorly translated section on air guns from a Russian encyclopedia as contrasted to the rest of the work) it is a fun and interesting time capsule from the mid 20th century. Good information especially on early Crosman, Benjamin, Webley, Weirauch, Diana, and BSA as well as others that are no longer around.Well illustrated in glorious black and white.

Great historical document for Air Gun Enthusiasts!

Although done in black and white with rather bad illustration quality, this is the historical masterpiece of the development of modern Air Guns and air armaments circa 1950's. So detailed as to be good enough to re-manufacture some of these guns from the included drawings if one were machine shop inclined. Interesting read and must have for the Air Gun Collector.
